Imagine having a 400hp V8 sedan in the mid/late 90s that most people would think is just a 528i or just another sedan. Also the interior aged quite well still looks modernish

As a long-time BMW owner, I think you should leave it. A few years ago, while my 550i was in the shop for servicing, there was an E60 M5 in the next stall having an engine replaced. I asked the Service Manager how much the engine cost and was shocked to learn a crate engine was $30K. This meant the price did not include installation, belts, hoses, or any needed miscellaneous parts.

I got a beastly E39. Huge cat backs. Twin turbo v8. Insane headers. Deleted that muffler. Very good car man

base model e39 owner I love this car. the body is timeless imo I stay away from the v8s though, haven't heard the best things. This is my favorite 5 series by far
