Today we are on the traditional lands of the Kabi Kabi / Gubbi Gubbi Peoples and today we decided to take an inland hike to Buderim Falls.

Also known as Serenity Falls, these waterfalls are a popular natural attraction located in Buderim, Queensland, Australia. Buderim is actually derived from the Aboriginal word of the Kabi Kabi / Gubbi Gubbi Peoples 'badderam' meaning honeysuckle (a type of Banksia which is a flowering plant found in the area). Buderim is about 13km from the Maroochydore Airport and takes approximately 15-18mins by car.

The falls sit within the Buderim Forest Park and is known for its serene environment and beautiful surroundings. Its an easy walk. There are two entry points on Quorn Close or Lindsay Road where we came via Lindsay Road which is accessible by wheelchair or pram up to approximately 600m as the first part is along a boardwalk. Following the rest of the way up to the falls requires crossing creeks and waterways, stairs and climbing along some rocks for that perfect picture and Instagram moment.

This freshwater destination is a perfect area for a swim and it can get busy during summer after some rainfall. It doesn’t require an entry fee and there is parking available.

Next time you’re visiting the Kabi Kabi / Gubbi Gubbi Country known as the Sunshine Coast area, be sure to add the Buderim Falls to your To Do List particularly if you know it’s been raining. We’ll continue to bring you more episodes from the Sunny Coast during our stay so if you enjoyed the content please hit that like, subscribe and share button and drop a comment for anything you like about the video. Thank you for watching, see you soon.
