In season 1 Tanjiro & Nezuko met up with the hashira for the first time.In this series (NOT CANON)they killed Nezuko instead of letting her prove herself. Tanjiro and Giyuu were upset and Giyuu was comforting Tanjiro.Then Muzan came(Cuz he has to be everywhere) and at that time Tanjiro liked Muzan more than the Hashira cuz he spared someone for Tanjiro unlike the Hashira.Giyuu knew he was devastated with the other Hashira and chose to stay by Tanjiro's side and also to become a demon.The start from normal demons to in the lower rank.
Tanjiro know ranks lowermoon 1 and his demon blood art is Himokagura
Giyuu ranks lowermoon 2 and his demon blood art is Water&Tsoenami
