Sierra Nevada Brewery Hosts Camp Fire Thanksgiving

Показать описание
Sierra Nevada is a hometown anchor in Chico. The brewery, along with Chico State, hosted “Thanksgiving Together” for thousands of Camp Fire survivors on Thanksgiving. Sierra Nevada Brewery founder Ken Grossman said with more than 100 turkeys and 75 gallons of gravy, they had enough to feed 2,500 people on Thursday. “I am usually the guy that makes mashed potatoes, gravy and turkey for Thanksgiving. So, I just stepped it up a bit,” Grossman said. “This morning I boiled 1,500 pounds of potatoes, we used our old brew kettle that I built in 1980 to boil the potatoes in.” Chico State also hosted evacuees at the Bell Memorial Union Auditorium and Sutter Dining Hall. The meals were scheduled at 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. “Thanksgiving Together” was in partnership with the town of Paradise and World Central Kitchen, the non-profit founded by celebrity chef Jose Andres.
