Well in this scene it was undoubtedly milverton's win if he had the full misread that his threat to moriarity was useless as moriarity intended it and did not knew that sherlock and William were actually friends....if sherlock and moriarity were actually strangers as thought by milverton then sherlock would have ended by taking the bait and killing moriarity ....but still milverton's threat was actually his mistake

keep thinking how this scene is a little different from the manga.
in the manga liam stays with sherlock pointing at milverton and that doesn't change until he is dead, and only then he changes his target. It's not a big deal but here it seems that liam's enemy at the moment is sherlock when that's not really the case

When i watched this for the first time, the previous episode or a closer one was taking about humanity's evilness, and it was show for a exemple Eve and the snake.
I remmember that watching this episode and then i think:
Eve is Liam; Adam is Sherlock and Milverton is the snake. The snake was soo full of herself/himself that she/him want to Adam curse and blame Eve for her sins. The sins of Liam are also the apple (or the red fruit) that was forbidden in Eden. But for the Snake suprise, Adam decided to "eat" Eve's sins and take them too.
Eve and Adam are no longer be allowed to enter in Eden/Heaven and soo the Snake, because It is dead.
