Lauraine Maddox takes a test flight in the new headfirst harness along the 660m SkyWire at the Eden Project in Cornwall. The zip line, which opens to the public on Saturday 18 May 2013, is England's longest and fastest - pilots have been clocked flying at up to 60mph!

The SkyWire, which starts 100m above the ground, offers a unique bird's-eye view over the spectacular architecture and lush landscape of the Eden Project. On a clear day, the flight also offers a commanding view of St Austell Bay.

Absolutely brilliant! Did it the day before yesterday and loved it. Definitely recommend.

Did this the other day! It is so much fun. This was clearly done when it first opened as it is still being built really, but the towers at either end of the zip wire are fully built now and there are extra hang loose activities as well now, such as the gravity swing and the drop.

Stop saying Cornwall is a country, it’s not. If you search Cornwall up it specifically says it is a county on England.

This is one of those things you will NOT forget when you have been on it.

Cornwall is in England. End of. We are not separate. Cornwall, Devon, Somerset = all counties. Regardless of England being Great Britain, United Kingdom or whatever, Cornwall is in England. We speak English. We are British. We are in England.

That is awesome, I really want to try it :)

I agree - it isn't England. Saying it is England undermines Cornwall's Celtic credentials - credentials that add to our distinctiveness - and we know how distinctiveness is good for business. Essentially, we need to get past calling Cornwall 'England' as it is bad for business.

What have passports got to do with Does anyone need a passport in Britain to go anywhere else in Britain Alan???

Actually all our passports say British, not English.

It isn't the longest zip line in England, because it isn't in England, it's in Cornwall.

I'm from the Midlands; traditionally we have our own dialect and we were the seat of the saxon kings of old, can we be a country too?

Cornwall is administered as a county but it is a constitutional duchy, and not legally part of england. The cornish are not english, we have our own celtic language and our own ethnic codes for ONS, NHS, PLASC school survey surveys, and our own national party. That Cornwall is considered part of england is merely by subterfuge. Go read some in depth history and learn something.
