Good work sir...I had never thought of the upper floor. In Ngong I made one with 2 decks. It is 7 feet by 20 feet and accommodates 28 hives. Next project I'll try this

First I'm going to save space
Second I'm going to produce more honey in good condition and save from predators.

I plan a retirement in the Philippines. Apiculture is not as big as it could be on Mindanao. Things like 40% increase in coconut harvest as well as increases in other fruits and vegetables with bee hives present is not realized in my village. I like your two story be building. I will most likely have Apis Cerana and Apis Melifera. Apis Dorsatta is not amenable to domestication.
