Fun video! Vinyl is just the greatest media by far for music. At least the most fun IMO. One thing I would suggest....take the time to clean your new records just like you would clean your used ones. The quality control of new vinyl today is absolutely terrible and you would actually be amazed at how much dirt and dust comes off of new vinyl when you clean it. I work at a record shop so I have brought home 100s and 100s of new albums and see it ALL the time.

Another way to get vinyl is through yard sales. I was able to double my collection at a single yard sale because the sellers were selling vinyl at a $1 a piece and they actually had a lot of bangers (The Cars, SuperTramp, Duran Duran, Prince, Michael Jackson etc) and they were actually very well kept. I thought that was a once in a lifetime find, but funny enough the very next yard sale I went to that morning also had vinyl but the guy had them individually priced ($2-$6) still way cheaper than buying new. Yard sales/garage sales/flea markets are a good way to source vinyl, it just takes some time and a whole lot of luck. Also the best thing to do is to ask if sellers have any vinyl. A lot of the time they don’t want to deal with lugging a heavy ass box from where they have the vinyl stored. I guarantee if you go to yard sales consistently for a year you will find some great albums in the wild

Your video is great! You speak of music and records and listening, like someone who's being doing it for decades. I think it's beautiful.

I’m fairly new to record collecting, I got my first record in October (1989 tv) and I got the same record player as you for Christmas. What you said about buying the music you love is so true, it’s an expensive and quite addicting hobby. There’s been so many times I’ve been tempted to buy a record because everyone else is excited about it or it’s a pretty pressing when I’ve never even listened to the album 😂 I think it’s really special to have a physical representation of all the music you love and as a graphic designer I always appreciate the artwork and design of them too!

I buy records from EBAY most of the time and sometimes from Walmart and Barnes And Noble

Hey I like your Audio Technica LP60XBT they're the best record players me and my family have them plus last year I gave a friend of mine from my church a white Audio Technica LP60XBT as a late birthday present because she was using a Jensen before and Jensen makes the record player models as Victrola and Crosley. She loves the Audio Technica I gave her

One thing I've been wondering for a long time is: can I leave my vinyls sealed or do I need to open them?
