Majority of positions in this job are likely strategic in intelligence brigades at places like Ft Mead, not tactical positions in combat unit MICOs. Just an estimated guess as a prior 35N. The Army has interesting jobs and combat jobs, the crossover is a rare thing. If you really want it, go to college and become an intel Warrant Officer.

I’m wanting to commission as an officer and go into rasp for the 75th rangers but my ultimate goal is just Army SF intelligence officer, could I choose to see combat and how do I orient myself to look better for those kind of jobs instead of signal work or desk work? My original plan was infantry but I was told I was too smart to be an officer for that.
