Loved it! Very heart warming story. Memories of my own home town of Kohala plantation closing down in 1971. Mahalo!

I wish I thought of watching this sooner. I was born in Pahala in 1953, at Kau Hospital. I have fond memories of visiting my Grandparents. I remember when I stepped out of my grandparents' plantation home & onto the road, I could see the activity at the sugar mill. There was the Boy Scouts meeting room across the road. A bit further down was a Barber shop. The owners had a daughter named Penny. I also remember the Kunihiro and the Ariyoshi families that lived near my grandparents. Behind their house lived the Sumida family. In 1957 my parents brought me and my brother to Honolulu so my dad could find work. My grandparents were also good friends with the Funai, Kanda and Nekoba families. Things were so simple back then.
