DiGiCo S21 Overview @ Group Technologies

Drew Menard from Group Technologies gives us an overview of the new DiGiCo S21 digital console.

I think this console is the first one to really blur the line between the under $10, 000.00 consoles, and the desks that cost 20 to 35K. The beauty of it is that you get everything you need (I/O, and processing) for 90% or more of your typical situations. Also, Digico's history of giving the customer incredibly powerful updates ensures that this board will be a great value for a long, long time.

The touch screen does not seem to be that responsive. He has to tap multiple times often. Seems slow.

It seems he often has to tap buttons twice before it reacts. Might be very frustrating.

I saw on one of your replies that it can have 80 inputs, as long as they share the stereo processing the of the other channel. Is that the same with outputs? You can have up to 16 mono outputs, or 32 stereo outputs? As long as you have a big enough I/O?

I've been watching this board for a while now. Still not a lot of information out on it.
So how many mic inputs is it capable of? You said 40 stereo channels. So does that mean
80 mono mic inputs with the right rack? Also this boards price point is at $7000 how does this board compare to
the Allen&Heath GLD 112 which is a very close competitor. I like this board but it is very hard to get to see one
here in the states.

Nice clean layout of the work surface, but I am not a fan of touchscreen controls. I'm sure the "millennial" generation will love it though.
