I was fortunate to visit the museum at Feodosia. His painting of St Helena, with Napoleon being a tiny insignificant figure at the top of the cliffs, captured the poignancy of Napoleon's situation.

Gotta love how colossal the work were and how quickly they were made.

Great artist and beautiful paintings, there's so many great works he did. There were a lot of great artists from this period of time. Thanks for making the video.

If I can only pick one, his painting of the burning battle ship that was left unfinished on the easel is my favorite.

Truthfully I mostly prefer his landscape paintings over his ocean paintings. One of my favorites, among Grimshaw and Hasui Kawase (I have a very basic taste haha).

I like to do some of his paintings, I did one called The Homecoming….a ship near the shore as wife and kids of one family waited, the ship in a mist fog….
