Your videos have been so helpful on my financial journey! I currently am working retail and having to rebuild my life after corona( I had sadly lost my job during the pandemic). I have accounts that are either online or far away so I’m not tempted to withdraw from. I also do direct deposit into them from my paycheck so I never notice it’s “missing”

I think using the term "savings" or "saving money" is not the best way to talk about and IRA or 401k because there are people who don't know the difference. Your savings account loses it's value every day because of inflation. That money will literally be worth a lot less when it comes to purchasing power. Sure, we should have 3 to 8 months of our cost of living saved, after that then invest.
