"School of The Infantry"... Hell yeah! I was in week 3 of OSUT, plunging bayonets into dummies when the Company Commander came out and told us. I thought he was just psyching us up for training, until he said "Any of you who have family in New York have a phone pass to call and make sure they're alright"... then I knew it must be real cause they didn't let us use the phone for shit! 😂🤣😂

That’s a time I will never forget where I was. Jobsite in NM. I remember the flights went silent and the military jets streaking across the sky. Unfortunately a lot of people have forgotten and a lot of people were too young to understand what that day was like.
I know my parents lived during WWII
and they had memories they never forgot. Too much to say…

I was 1.5 years old, (born April 2nd, 2000) on the living room floor, playing with my sandbox and construction cars while watching Bob the builder when the emergency signal interrupted my show and switched the a general news broadcast channel. My mom was outside doing whatever she was doing and my dad was at work, I went outside and cried to my mother that someone switched the channel and it won’t switch back. Then I remember the following years seeing the news of soldiers all the time and that’s when I figured out I wanted to be a soldier. Enlisted when I was 18 and I’ll be finished in 2026.

Just arrived to my job and it was just me (supervisor) and the Manager there. We were watching the news that a plane had hit the towers and then as we were watching the second plane hit. It was terrifying. It grounded all our companies planes and disrupted our service. Such a crazy sad day.

I was 10 years old in the 4th grade when the towers were struck. I remember the principal coming over the p.a system instructing teachers to not turn on the tv's and to not let the children see whats happening.

I am easter European, I was in grade 2 and I remember my mom telling me and showing the news on TV. Literally every channel except for a cartoon channel showing dragon balls Z was showing what was happening in New York. Not to get political and again I am not American but I keep up with world politics and when I heard "Kamal Harris and others" claim Jan 6 was like 9/11, I realised those people have no souls. Nothing in recent history will be as traumatic as what happened on 9/11.

The entire High School shut down, every classroom was going to turn on the TV, same with the lunch hall, library, etc. We spent the rest of the day watching the news.

I was still swimming in my dad’s nuts (I’m an 04 baby) when the towers fell

But from a young age due to the profession that my family were primarily engaged at the time I saw a lot of the footage when I was young and became very well aware of the fallout so to speak that came from 9/11
Despite being three years and an entire ocean separated from the events, As I’ve gotten older (and became a welder myself), it had become harder and harder to watch the footage from that day without wanting to look away or hope it’s fake, for me it’s gone from being an interesting childhood “education” of what essentially shaped the 21st-century to a somewhat relatable feeling of people going about their daily lives only to experience something my generation has yet too and hopefully never will

God bless the victims, the first responders and anyone who risk everything on that day and the many months afterwards.
