In this video and in the accompanying post, we derive the equations for peak time, overshoot, and percentage overshoot of a step response of a dynamical system. We show that the peak time is a function of the natural undamped frequency and damping ratio. We also show that the overshoot is only a function of a damping ratio. The formulas derived in this video are very helpful for control system design.
