Due to my weight (220 lbs), wider the tire, calmer in my mind 😂

35 mm is best for all sorts of things, if you are not chasing after time.

Just bought a Cannondale Synapse that comes stock with 30mm tires and it’s great! They need to be topped off less frequently, they ride softer, they have more grip, and my speeds have not been effected at all. If anything, I’m able to ride a slight bit faster over my last bike with 25mm tires. I’ll never go back to a narrow tire again, totally dead tech at this point.

50mm tyres, im still on 25mm rear and 23mm fronts 😂

I think 38 with hybrid gravel thread is the best for commuting through rough roads and dirt with a hybrid road bike.

There has to be a point of diminishing return. Is 28 faster than 23? Maybe. But is a fat tire faster than 28? Probably not. The answer is… it depends.

This old chestnut! It’s aero vs contact point vs tyre deformation vs sidewall hysteresis vs pressure. Solving for all of these gives the answer 28mm! True!

I switched from 32mm to 35mm tires today in the hope to get a little bit more comfort (lower tire pressure) and not getting too slow because of that.

I wouldn't think they'd use their top tier racing soft rubber compounds on a 50mm tire, but the rider could have more confidence on the bigger tires and most of cornering is in the mind

35mm is honestly the best focal length, 50mm is too tight imo

The 50 mm cornerd the best I'd my guess more rubber more grip

On a dry day with some of that graphene in there yeah they corner better than your local shop!

Should've added a 28 or 30 in there, as that's also a popular tire width for people to use.

wider tires definitely more grip and smoother ride. But wider is heavier and you'll feel that with every pedal stroke/climb.

At some point of increase, they will either scrub/squirm in turns, or bounce over surface changes.

i think 30 mm is the sweet spot for road

For the price of one gp5000 you used to be able to get 2 gp4000s.. it is cheaper to buy a car tyre than a bike tyre in 2023, let that sink in

I use a 38mm tyre actually. It’s so safe and comfy.

Ive done hundreds of alpine descents mostly on 23’s, more recently 25’s but Im pretty sure I would be faster on my mountain bike with 50mm slicks.

Usual non-scientific approach. Years ago 18 mm Michelin supercomp HD were considered the best 👍
