The power of Notion is that you can emulate other apps for 4 USD per month, for example, I've created an entire basecamp and with better function for my company inside of notion.
Only feature missing is the "campfire" ( chat ) but for that you have slack, discord, or even mentions inside of notion

No doubt Notion is here due to its popularity, and I do have to agree that it's not as simple as it is sexy. Using it is nice, but I still find it a nice to have rather than a must-have.

I kicked the tires on Notion for about a week and when more time is sunk into tinkering and tweaking than actually getting shit done it's time to shelve it. It conjured up memories of using TweakUI on Windows XP 2 decades ago <shudder> (and I just dated myself).

Further, I think it is the height of arrogance for ventures like Notion or the other hot new kid on the note-taking block, Roam, to believe they're impervious to the same hype cycle of Evernote and everything else whose day has come and gone. I gawk at their VC parties while entering a note in notational velocity (nvALT, actually) to remind myself to never act that way.
