Wes creates a work of art with stock chord voicings and straight ahead jazz lines. It doesn't have to be complex to be profound.

For me, the genius of Wes Montgomery comes from his ability to take the simple and make something beautiful out of it. The chords he uses aren’t extremely complex however he paints a story with them, additionally when soloing he isn’t shredding lines he’s trying to make beautiful melodies!
