How does this song feel like a throwback and feel futuristic at the same time? I love it.

How many people try listening to only one song but end up playing the whole album instead???? 🖐🏽

This is one of the best, rawest, most evocative songs on the album. A throwback to early 90s r&b, lauryn hill, etc., but it incorporates some jazz and blues as well and blends them all symphonically. The mumbled lyrics at the end paired with the sensual jadedness of the refrain make the song both vulnerable and fierce. THIS. This is Janelle Monae at her peak. This song is music.

It's almost overwhelming to witness one woman being this artistic, intelligent, talented and aesthetically pleasing simultaneously. The last artist to entrance me in this way was Lauryn Hill during her 'miseducation" days. Janelle is so dope. 👍

Prince would be so proud! His spirit is definitely living throughout this album. ❤

At 3:50 I began to cry how beautiful that violin is. Sad, somber, elegant, but pivotal to express emotions with sound. This song is out of this world.

"Even though you say that you love me, is it me or do you love my disguise?" -THAT HIT MY SOUL JANELLE, WE ARE ALL BATTLING!💖💖💖💖💖

Ironically, this jam is the most similar to her earlier work (the R&B sound mixed with orchestrated interludes). Part of why it's my favorite, plus the rawness and all that black, queer sensuality.

"Don't judge me! I know I've got issues, but they drown when I kiss you...."

Where is the person who'll make this line relevant for me?! 😅

This is just perfect all the way. Dirty Computer is Janelle's best record ever. She is so free and honest in her words.

People are sleeping on this song!! This song is truly emotional and I can't pick words that could possibly describe all the feelings I feel when I listen to this masterpiece!! Janelle is my one true Queen. Period.

Dear Janelle,

I needed this music tonight. Last night I was seriously considering going to the ER for suicidal thoughts. I'm so glad I persevered. Thank you.

"Even though you say you love me, is it me or do you love my disguise." Man, that line hit me a lot. I'm going to miss Cindi... but Janelle is now here. Liberated and Unfiltered!

Yall "Say You'll Go" is one of my favorite songs of all time and I thought I wouldn't witness any other song that will make me feel the same way that that song makes me feel, but this song here proved me wrong. I feel like im floating. Only Janelle can make me feel like I'm levitating when her voice drowns in beautiful strings and chords. I want to thank God for creating Janelle Monae. It is a blessing to have an artists who is beautiful inside and out and extremely talented. I will always cherish you. I love you so much! I am looking forward to seeing concerts. I avoid standing concerts due to my back issues, but I will do anything for you Jane. 😭😭😭

I’m so impressed by how she can easily express herself through music…

If I could sing or write like her I’d be performing everywhere 🔥🫦

“I know I got issues but they drown when I kiss you “ that’s poetry right there
