This is my favorite episode of last meals. Brittany is always seen as a goofy person, but she's so intelligent and her view on life and death is incredible

"Mimi, you didn't know who I was ever" is such an iconic line that i fear may have just permanently embedded itself in my lexicon

I love how chill she is. Everyone needs a friend like her. 🙌

I actually think this happens a lot, it's not that we change when we move, it's that we were always this way, and moved where we feel more comfortable being ourselves.

“You’ve change”
No I just stopped pretending

Edit: Be whoever you want, it doesn’t matter what “influences” your change. If you’re happier the way you are then live your truth. You don’t own people a “comfortable” version of yourself

dude yes!! i’m from colorado but i moved to texas about two years ago and wow is all of that true. especially when it comes to dating men. it’s insane and i constantly feel like im not “woman enough” or good enough

Nothing hurts more than hearing someone you love say how “youve changed! I don’t even know who you are anymore!” But they don’t know that you didn’t change, you just stopped changing yourself around them for their comfort. Now you’re who you really are but they view it as a negative and you’re just like “whelp thanks for validating why I masked my personality from you for so long, meme!”

“I’ve never been more myself” is EXACTLY how I feel now that I’ve been away from and no longer talk to my toxic side of my so called family! My boyfriends family welcomed me in their home 9 years ago and I’m FOREVER grateful!! They are my true family❤️ My boyfriend’s entire family has showed me nothing but pure love and I didn’t know that was a thing until I met them❤️

“theyre not in the mindset to even be receptive of it” so real

I can relate. Came from a conservative family as a queer person. To them i just up and decided to become someone else when I've always been this way.

The panic that my southern friends had at the thought of not being married, with kids, by the age of 26 is REAL. I'm 48, childless, shacked up with my boyfriend of 13 years & our 3rd adopted dog & I'm happy 😁❤ Yee-f'n-Haw!

My mom says I’m being “influenced” by outside sources and doesn’t believe me when I say certain things have always been my opinion. She doesn’t seem to realize they don’t even know their own daughter.

“You didn’t know who I was ever.”
Exactly 🙏🏾I relate to this so much.

this is like a universal experience for people from the south that aren’t right wingers lol

"You didn't know who I was ever" is such a REAL line. I felt that so hard

Also Texan, agree. Good Ol' Southern families are so tedious. That's why so many people move away from here.

"They're not in the mindset to even be receptive to any of it"
I dig that, think I'm gonna use it. What a polite way to call your family ass backwards bigots lmao

Same! It’s so hard to be free in Texas. I was born and raised outside of Houston and nobody knew me because they wanted me to be what they wanted me to be regardless if it made me miserable. I don’t know this girl but she is a true kindred spirit.

She is so well spoken!! Everything she says in this is so relatable and she’s so easy to listen to, like she’s relaxing to witness because she’s so chilo

As a fellow southern woman this is very relatable
