Little correction: Live Edit DOES work on emulators as well, not only the preview as I mentioned here :)

I seriously love live edit, I wasn’t expecting that much progress so soon. I’m sure in the next 1 or 2 years we will be on par with flutter hot reload.

This is frankly the 1st time, that i'm up to date about all the android topics covered in the Google I/O event, & that too within a week. That's solely because of this video brother. Thank you 🙂🙏

Hey Philipp, first of all thank you for the summary. I really don't have much time to watch google io in detail. You have summarized and I trust you. At the end you have raised very important point regarding android studio speed. I'm using macbook pro 2019 intell i9 processor 32GB ram but still sometime android studio works like a shit. They really need to improve the android studio. Thanks

Love the monthly news of android, but about the searching of sdk from Android studio, it was a feature similar to how unity had integrated asset search window, but bcz of performance issues they made it seprate which i think will also be same problem in android studios

Just a small correction, Live Edit does indeed work on phones and emulators and I even found the experience better than what you get in the preview window. That way your system has more than enough resources for Gradle shenanigans and faster builds.

I think Android Programming is the way to go. I like the efforts Google put to improve and make things easy and interesting for us. Specifically Bluetooth Simulation, Device Mirroring, Log Cat Highlighting and Live Composables Edit is a game-changer. You are also a game-changer and you don't disappoint. Thanks for this special mid-month update.

So glad you are here because I did not attend that event and I am kind of lazy to read articles/books 😃

I like to see how efficient is the preview function. Excited about the new Android Studio version.

Live Edit even works on your phone if you change values like padding dp etc. You don't even need to save the code or anything like that

Dang, this is lit🔥, i used flutter for 2 years before and then decided to migrate to fully kotlin+jetpack since last year so its been 1 year already and I gotta say, i am really glad i make this decision.

As you said they have to fix the minor bugs and spare us the time to invalid cache and restart. Also I wonder if we have to upgrade to better processor for these changes.
