Avengers Endgame really was quite the movie, with Iron Mans, Captain America and Black Widows stories all finishing, it truly was one of the greatest moments in cinema history. But it's quite funny when you take it from Thanos' perspective

If you liked the music at the end, please check out this playlist, it's Alex Maragakis's music - he's not paying me for this, I just love his music. We met last year in Ecuador, when we both did Ayahuasca together and formed a brotherlike bond. We live in different countries now, but listening to his music sends me back to those days, and I just want to share his music with the world

Middle of endgame he sees himself die, then is surprised at the end when he dies. He has confidence, got to give him that

Tony Stark:

- Wore a suit of metal armor
- Had lots of money ("gold")
- Was defending his land and people (subjects)
- Was in the upper echelons of society (nobleman)

My God, from a technologically advance civilization perspective, Tony Stark really was just some medieval knight.

Not only did Thanos watch a supercut of Infinity War from Nebula's memory implants, this is Thanos from 2014. That's two years after the Avengers stopped Loki in New York. He knows exactly who they are.

Endgame is the equivalent of losing to the final 3-stage boss, then farming for a whole bunch of time to max out your levels, and then killing it while its at stage 1

That snap didn't just kill Thanos and his army, it killed the MCU.

A lot of people miss the subtle nature of endgame Thanos. It was needed to complete his IW character. In IW his character hinged on two aspects, 1.that he sacrificed more than everyone else 2.that he wasnt sure he would win. He constantly showed that the more you sacrifice the more driven you become, yet when we see this sacrifice over and over again he becomes more and more passive. He understands others more and hits the point where he feels he grew a bond with Tony. And then to play off point 2 he knew there was the chance these sacrifices would lead to failure. That he kills his daughter only to gain nothing from it. It’s a heavy burdan and one he attempts to share with Strange who refuses to understand.

Then we get Endgame Thanos who shows us that those sacrifices did in fact turn him into that man. One who spared the heroes, always held back, who truly loved life. Now we see without those losses he is nothing. An empty man with no mercy or love for his mission. It also shows that knowing the future changes a man. The uncertainty leads to guilt, hesitation, forgiveness, mercy. But why feel guilt if you know it turns out good? Why stop and speak to Tony or Strange if your goal is right there and you know you can accomplish it?

It shows us all sides to Thanos, and further shows why IW Thanos was so good. It also ties into the themes of time travel in Endgame (that we can only respect the past if we understand the future)

Imagine if Thanos sat through all of Nebula’s memories to research these guys. You would’ve had to sit through hours of Tony and Nebula playing drinking games as they drifted aimlessly in space.

Imagine during the entire fight he’s just just thinking “oh you’re that guy who hung out out with my daughter that one time?”

Edit: Wow! I didn’t expect this comment to get so many likes. Thanks guys

Referring to the pym particle as magical bullshit is the single most accurate thing I have ever heard from you.

He was beaten by medieval knight. But at least he knows his name was Ironman.

I bet he'll remember that.

I love the fact that thanos just stood there while tony caught his breath and said four words over the course of 20 seconds

I never thought about it, but your right it has to be frustrating as hell for Thanos, knowing about the TVA and now also knowing the future plays out is his favor, watching the avengers time travel and blatantly mess up the timeline with no consequences. Hes gotta be like "WHERE THE F*** ARE THEY?! WHY ARENT THEY STOPPING THIS!!" 😂

Calling the Iron Man suit "medieval armour" is so on point it's not even a joke. So many other worlds in Marvel are centuries or millenia ahead of humanity technologically that even Tony's Nanosuit is still basically platemail.

Pym particles, super-soldier seurums, vibranium and adamantium weapons, and combat wizards are all pretty much the equivalent of pike-and-musket soldiers to Thanos. Thor's hammer and axe are basically the only the only actual "weapons" on the entire planet.

That's what Thor was getting at in "Avengers" with the whole "higher form of war" thing -- Earth using an infinity stone to make weapons is basically the cosmic equivalent of North Korea's nuclear program.

Also they were originally doing the whole 'Thanos is genociding to impress Lady Death' thing from the comics (one of the post-credits scenes, he smiles when 'courting death' is mentioned; they were clearly going for it) but the Russos just decided to bail on that with Infinity War and Endgame. Then Agatha All Along introduced Death...Imagine Thanos trying to score with Aubrey Plaza.
