Also from all this you can take away that your instinct and reasoning is absolutely correct. You knew you want the emergency fund higher.
This is why it’s so important to get out of debt and save.

We bought some of our Thanksgiving food already basically stuff for ambrosia and deserts (frozen pies) crescent rolls and once the turkey/ ham go into the store we will get early to try to save some money and not buy all at the same time

Sorry you cant share all the details with us. Im kind of making some assumptions and its got me thinking about my own what ifs so im sitting down and doing a “bare bones budget” myself just for informations sake no one wants to have to budget with an unknown income but its good data to have. And of course i know that whatever is going on the fact that you are consumer debt free will make everything so much easier
