It was a sad day yesterday, for sure. It just won't feel the same without him, but we have been truly blessed to have Jurgen as our manager. He gave us some beautiful memories and will go down as a Liverpool legend.

I was shocked. I thought this season would have reinvigorated him to at least see his contract out.

What a manager we have had for the last 9 years! Hopefully we can win a trophy or two for him this season. I like the idea of Alonso and Nagglesmann but it's but shoes to fill

It’s going to take for a long time to get over this shocking news but when I saw the interview that he did I was even more shocked.
He looks really exhausted. Yet he wants to make sure that we fans know his commitment to do the job that he so much love until the last game. Let’s enjoy his football while he is here and not worry and talk too much about a successor even though it is a very important issue. I will miss his smile and watching him giving a great big bear hug to Liverpool players.

Klopp brought a smile to millions and millions of fans world wide and he will go down as one of the greatest managers in Liverpool’s history along with the Premier League and no one can argue that fact. He will well and truly missed along with his coaching staff.

He did turn doubter’s in to believer’s that is for sure and let’s make every Liverpool home game into a cauldron noise and sound like Anfield has ever known because what he has done for Liverpool is just trust truly remarkable and he will always be part of the Liverpool family that is for sure,

Another great piece David, as you say how they kept it a secret was impressive. Even today, I feel as if I am not ready for this day yet, he will leave such a void at the club. I just hope we can win the title for him, it would make up for the disappointment of how we won it last time, in a closed stadium. What a way that would be to bring his time to a close. I barely feel able to consider who should be next. Like you I am surprised that Pep isn't getting a chance, but perhaps he already has decided to go elsewhere. As for a successor, Xabi is the obvious choice so far. It will be interesting to see if he can wrap up a Bundesliga title. He certainly has the intelligence to make a good coach, while it would be risky if he could fit into the way we run the club, then why not. But I am sure other managers will throw their caps into the ring. Let's see what happens.

Reading between the lines I think Liverpool already have a new manager that wants his own back room staff. But as you know David we will not know until Liverpool want it known. Nice of you to give very calm coverage .

14:39 it’s a big question as to whether Liverpool’s success in recent years is more due to Klopp or to FSG. If FSG’s gonna want to exert more control over transfers with the sporting director, rather than the current model where Klopp seems to be at least on par with the sporting director due to his background and personality, we sure hope that things don’t go too badly for us. Especially after seeing how FSG has messed up their baseball team in the USA in recent years. 😢

I am impressed that Liverpool has such a great Academy that produces plenty of players for the 1st team that are able to compete almost immediately at such high standards. Klopp had the courage to use them.

The sporting director is surely one the club have already worked out…
The names others have called out here defo come to mind De Zerbi, Alonso, even Zidane if he was interested. Your call of manager sounds interesting too. Klopp it feels for me is leaving Liverpool in a much better state than Man U were left, which is partially down to the owners backing him. We have the training facilities, extended/upgraded stadium, a young squad, though we can thank Saudi Arabia for that too… The number of young players on the cusp of the first team is so exciting, the right manager can have a great next 9 years!

If the club has known since November the search would be well under way, if not completed.
