I don't care if a woman is in the military or not, my problem is that there shouldn't be any changes in requirements for women. Making the selection process less stringent for women would make the institution weaker in absolute terms.

I am a girl preparing for defence and want to join army knowing the challenges I will face. With all due respect I want to mention here that yes biologically men and women are different but dreams and aspirations doesn't come with biology only. But after watching this podcast I realized the criticality of the subject and according to me women should accept the role that are given to them and should have courage to choose challenges over your personal circumstances.

Thank God someone has spoken up. Politics and Courts need to stay away from issues military unless it is a case of welfare of the Entire organisation. Thank you Gen Sengar for a candid response

I think the problem here is the thinking that women want to be in the army to somehow fulfill their feminist agenda when that is actually not the case. Women want to serve the nation this way. I know there are negative case studies as listed here but I am also sure there are positive aspects too. I am not saying that all women are capable but barring them from even trying is wrong. The generalized idea that women want reservations to reach higher posts is wrong. Make them go through the same challenges that men are willing to. Don't lower the standards for women but allow them to attempt to match those standards. Maybe there aren't many women who would succeed but surely some would. They should be able to achieve the same physical and mental standards and if they can't, then the course of action should be the same for them as for a man. I agree that military doesn't need feminism and I also know that many women would be willing to go through all the stages to serve as an equal in the army and if they are not, then that individual isn't meant to be there but don't base the whole process on those selected failed cases.

And the people here talking about maj Unnikrishnan or Anuj Sood or other many similar examples should know that they are as much an inspiration for the females as they are for the males. Females aspire to reach that level and they should not be stopped from doing so. Maybe you will be surprised by the resilience they can show.

9:30 Very Important line because here Sir Major General Anil Sengar explained with proper example that why at some places women in Army is not fit. I think he is totally right in saying that army is not place for feminism .

In the very start I felt he’s saying all wrong, but halfway I realised the thoughts are practical.

Very impressive Sir. You have put things in perspective. In most cases a unit is as good as its Commanding Officers. Can't have Commanding Officers who are not trained for the responsibility.

Disagree with some points. Army has rules like how long an officer/jawan can be deployed in siachen. For eg. 3-4 months is the norm. Because army know the limitations of a human is that they can for long periods stay in the cold. So now the rules are made with that in consideration. Humans have limitations nobody is perfect and women have different limitations than men. Why can't we provide those facilitiesand then see how they perform. Building a cresh in a peace area isn't that hard. Why not. We build hospitals for injured men, don't we or do we just let them stay with injury.
I agree that the criteria for an officer shouldn't be lowered but both men and women should be given facilities to enable them to have equal footing. Sure you shouldn't be able to refuse a posting, but whatever is required for the posting should be given to the officer.

From ‘regimentation’ to ‘activism’🤦🏻‍♂️ History is a testament that whenever a system accepts ‘opening up’ & ‘reform’ it’s ‘destruction’ becomes imminent.

I don't see any women leading operations in Rashtriya rifles, special forces, LRPs in HAA, Siachen posts. Why ❓ they are supposed to be equally good as they do commando and jungle warfare courses with same standards too before considering themselves equally fit to command.

I completely agree with General sir, Women empowerment is no priority over National security, If you want equality stop asking for empowerment

General Sengar, Sir..
U have hit the nail in a crisp brief and to the point manner befitting a Military personel who had been on ground.

Sir, i had admired u since i had known u through ur book "Battalion Command Dare to lead" & since then had been an ardent admirer of yours.

Thank u very much for ur views and clear thought process which is lacked by few people in the services now a days.

Warm Regards

Brother society doesn’t change by dialog, today dialog is a form of manipulation & guilt traps. Society change by example & courage to be example. If a woman want to be equal to a man then live, act, work & most of all suffer like a man. You can’t expect to get salary of ceo but work like manager.

Make women a CO if they can pass same physical test n mental test as their male counterpart while removing paternity leave then only we have zero objection... I mean women constable is acceptable without requirements of passing same test as men, but in military force is way above feminism n women empowerment..

The unaccountable netas, babus, and officers who have inducted women into the army have degraded it’s combat efficiency .

It is an eye-opening discussion for politicians and the judiciary. They must take cognizance of it.
Salute to Gen Sanger!
