Stralsund and (restored) Rostock are also worth a visit for beautiful brick architecture. I have only briefly passed through Greifswald but it survived the Red Army and is definitely worth another visit.

Ich hatte mal vor Jahren einen beruflichen Termin in Brandenburg a. d. Havel und deshalb so gut wie nichts von der Stadt gesehen. Aber es war das einzige Mal, dass ich es auf einer Straßenbahnfahrt mit einer Kletterweiche zu tun bekam.

Fun fact: German autobahns A2 and A4 have the same names as Polish counterparts after they meet on the border. A4 was build in 1930' by Nazi Germany in Niederschlesien and after the borders moved in 1945 it happened to be the only highway in Poland for decades.

Haha ... ich habe von 1996 bis 2002 in Brandenburg a.d.H. gelebt und habe die Stadt (OK, das war ja noch recht knapp nach der Wende und so sah es da auch aus) als ziemlich hässlich in Erinnerung, aber du hast es echt geschafft, die schönen Seiten aufzuzeigen. Ich sehe ich muss wohl mal wieder auf einen Besuch hin :) Danke dafür

Solltest du mal wieder in der Berliner Gegend sein, dann solltest du Jüterbog besuchen. Jüterbog ist die zweit älteste Stadt in Brandenburg mit 1017 Jahren auf dem Buckel. Da ich gute Verbindungen zum ansässigen Kulturquartier habe könnte ich dir sogar Einblicke verschaffen die so nicht jeder Besucher zu sehen bekommt.

Another example of how silly those "not for commercial use" clauses are. They could have had free marketing for the cathedral interior in this video, but because of their silly clause, now they don't.
