As I understand, the Ottomans brought 80, 000-100, 000 troops to siege Constantinople. Because they were worried that a fresh European Army might attack them from behind, while they were focused on the city.

So they technically besieged the city with 30, 000-40, 000 troops, while 50, 000-60, 000 spread out nearby, to protect against possible attacks by a relieving force.

The area behind the Genoese colony in Pera/Galata is actually a pretty steep uphill climb when you try to go up from the coast on the Bosphorus side and again another pretty steep downhill towards the Golden Horn on the other side, which makes the Ottoman operation all the more impressive!

Kings and Generals made only mistake in the video- it weren't Venetian ships that came, but 3 Genoese ships and a Byzantine heavy commanded by captain Flantanelas. Those chads actually tied their ships to one another so they literally made a fortress in the middle of the sea. After that naval battle that went very bad for Ottomans, Mehmed wanted to kill his admiral. It was indeed a great morale boost for the defenders at that moment!

wow, your history scholar impressed me a lot, I'm from Turkey. They teach us things like this in history, but it's not that detailed. Even though you're not Turkish, your comprehensive history scholar surprised me a lot. I really liked this series.

I heard a strategy where you covert the culture of everything you have until you become an empire what do you think about that Ludi

The most popular legend is the one of the marble king. "onstantine XI Palaiologos had not actually died. He has been rescued by an angel and turned into marble. The body of the Marbled King has been hidden beneath the Golden Gate of Constantinople awaiting a call from God to be restored to life, reconquer both the city and bring the old empire to its previous glory.

That was very interesting to watch it with someone who has some knowledge. It reminds me my students time in history a bit, when we were all specializing in different things, that was great to exchange. You are making me missing this time :D

ludi your argument about a king acting logically is in itself a self-defeating argument. you may be right he may only need 50k but if he is looking to go down in history and or is afraid of actually lousing the siege. then yes i can easily see the ottoman sultan bringing extra men for the prestige and the story alone.
