Maliwal criticized the absence of Delhi government ministers, the Mayor of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), and other officials at the scene. She described the deaths as a "murder" rather than a disaster, calling for an FIR against the responsible officials. Maliwal also demanded a compensation of Rs 1 crore for the families of the deceased and urged the government representatives to apologize to the affected students. She pledged to raise these issues in Parliament, highlighting that students had previously reported drainage issues to local authorities, yet no action was taken.

Jab library banaayi tab BJP thi MCD me and ab bhi AAP inspection karna chah rahi hai, sewer saaf aur nayi line daalna chah rahi hai but BJP LG ke through kisi officer ko kaam karne nahi de rahi.
