How to install Photoshop CCX / UXP plugins manually ◼ Windows

Option 1:
\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2022\Plug-ins\

Option 2:
If any of the folders do not exist, then create them manually:
C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\UXP\Plugins\External\NewPluginName\

This worked for me, I am running Photoshop (24.4.1) Build currently. I had to create the directory from the UXP directory . Also, I use winrar so i just renamed the file extensions to .zip then extracted. Worked like a charm.

I got it to work for me after some trial and error. First you have to rename the file to a zip and extract it, then follow option one. :) Big thanks!

This method seems to be working for TK8 plugin, haven't tested with any other.

Update: This doesn't seem to work with TK9. Hence, there are a few alternative options:
1) If you have any other unnecessary plugins (which you know work in PS but you no longer need them), replace their contents with TK9. Or simply download any other FREE plugin from official CC and replace their contents.
2) Sometimes just replacing doesn't work. Thus you need to make sure to keep all IDs exactly the same. E.g.: ID from manifest and folder name. Then use something like "Everything" app to search across all your Windows machine to replace all folders with appropriate correct name.
3) Sometimes even after replacing all folder names - it still doesn't work. Thus we have to re-build a .CCX file ourselves.

Doesn't work for me. It seems that the plugin has to be registered somewhere for Photoshop to recognize it.
I had Lumenzia 11.3.4 installed correctly and wanted to replace it with 11.3.7.
Moved 11.3.4 to the desktop and replaced it with a new folder for version 11.3.7 in PS. Did not work.
Put 11.3.4 back in the plugins-folder in PS and it worked fine.

So PS cannot 'see' the new in the Plugins folder.

Then I replaced the files in the folder of version 11.3.4 with the new files and the new version of the plugin worked.

Somehow PS knows its folders and does not see new ones.

I solved this for every plugin(not only TK8)

First, the plugin folder could be place at these two path:
PluginFolder >
2.C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop 2024\Plug-ins\< PluginFolder >
Second, modify the manifest.json:
1.add "data" into "host", with "loadEvent": "use" .
2.Make sure "host" does not warp with [] .
3.for example:

Doesn't work for me either. First, I tried to install in PS 2025 (v 2026.2.0 ) the various TK9_v3 panels automatically as instructed in the PDF instructions.
It just wouldn't work.
Then I tried your method for manual installation and it doesn't work either. When I opened PS they weren't there and they didn't show up either in my Creative Cloud desktop app.
How about a little update for the latest version of PS and TK9_v3?
