Soldiers from 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment, recently put their skills to the test by volunteering for basic sniper training. After passing a pre-assessment, the aspiring sharpshooters attended Greenbank Training Centre for phase two of the course from 18-28 July 22.

Their marksmanship was under the microscope, with instructors putting them through a variety of scenarios at different ranges. Sniper training is among the most difficult courses in the Army, but despite this instructors expressed great satisfaction with the trainees’ efforts.

Beware the Australian Bush Wookie aka the Danger Hedge, one of the most feared creatures of the battlefield, a soldier that can do math.
All jokes aside, thank you for your service to our great nation.

LCPL Reece Thomlinson, I feel you spoke well. I am impressed. When you need myself and my crew to fight alongside you, it would be an honour for your snipers to watch our backs. Great work and thank you sir.
