I think that the young Hungarian did the mixed 5k a few days ago. He was challenged by the Italian at the first portage and used the same tactic as he used against the Australian on the 2nd lap in this race.

As you can see at 2:08, Hungarian athlete - Adam Said KAED, should be disqualified for pushing his rival away with his hand.

Portage has turned 5k into a farce. These are not marathon athletes in 8kg marathon boats

If portaging is required organizers should provide / build proper portage as per done in Canoe Marathon and find the budget for it. This will support the Athletes racing and they would perform better.

this is the worst decision of the 5 km. we are kayakers and canoist, not runners.
