My experience with belt grip is the trade off is the time it takes to find it and then you can only move your grip side to side within the belt. Very strong and underused. Very cool video

I’ve been using front belt for years and sometimes find myself with that side belt grip, due to my partners twisting defensive measures…this is a fantastic technique/series of techniques that will add to my… or ANYONE’S game! Great stuff (as always) from the best coach on the web! Too many students todays are watching flashy BS… too bad for them… but good for any fan of Vlad once they meet in competition! 🔥👊🥋

One of the first times I trained with Vlad he had us do several rounds of a drill where both people start in position for Osoto Gari and it's a race to finish. It's great for teaching good posture and position.
