Well zippo and zorro are not desgnated wind proof lighthers. Its design meant that it was wind "resistent" to a degree. Not completely windproof.
There are other actual windproof lighters out there

Zippos aren't "the upgraded version of a traditional lighter".

Bics are the upgraded version of a traditional lighter.

Bics are cleaner burning, are heavily water resistant, don't evaporate fuel, and last for thousands of lights.

Zippos are traditional, have immense flaws, and are only superior in aesthetics. They're not an upgrade.

I carry a zippo, but anybody claiming it's anything but a fidget toy or a fashion statement is lying or ignorant.
