I’m glad that you felt comfortable enough to show this raw reality on how living abroad can be (and really how tough being an adult can be). Although I have been waiting over 2 years to study abroad in Japan, now that it is less than 2 months away, I am terrified. Japan, like China but not as strict, has tough covid policies, so I’m glad there is a creator discussing how emotionally draining and nerve-wracking living in a country that still has tight restrictions and strict protocols can be. Still, I really hope for your mental health and everyone’s collective well-being things become safer with covid in China and your life becomes easier ❤️

This video just shows how bold and human you are. It's people like you that normally I see as 'not being allowed to be down', as normally you are the one being the mood booster for whoever surrounds you, it seems! Now seeing you showing yourself publicly as a vulnerable and normal person, feels truly inspiring, and it's admirable.
Thank you for this video, truly! Sending you a big virtual hug, strength and good energy. And of course, you're allowed to cry, laugh, everything! 加油 😘

Aleese, you are an African Queen and you are loved more than you think. Try not to feel emotional as much. I would love to take you to so many wonderful places like tourist spots, live jazz and blues clubs, eating places and more. Stay strong my Queen! When I come to Shanghai, I will ask to do that.

Aleese, I love your content. Life is not about all highs and happiness. Remember you can’t prevent the birds of sadness from flying over your head. But you can prevent them from building a nest in your hair. Stay Strong !

I’m glad you had someone to talk to and it looks like you felt a bit better afterward. And it seems that your mood got better when hang out with friend at the pool. When I saw you cried, I wanted to give you hugs. 🥰 Hope things got better for you.

Aleese! You are the realest. I definitely feel you, especially about the Covid situation here in China. It wasn't until I moved from Shanghai to Chongqing last week that I realised how much the last 3 months had really affected me. Don't forget you're not alone in this ♥

Thank you for sharing your real emotions! Sometimes it can get hard to do that because you don’t want to feel like you’re complaining or that there aren’t some things that are going well. But what we (especially you) have lived through in China is it’s own form of trauma and your feelings about it all are very valid!! Always here if you need to talk!

Thank you for this. Seeing Lauren with you here is a relief since I haven't seen her blogging in a while. Must be a new page. Stay well.

Totally understand how it feels living alone abroad, it’s not a shame to be sometimes in a negative mood. We are all human. And one of the toxic positivities you’ve brought to us is that you can always find something to chill yourself out. Keep that up and hope things will get better for all of us!

It’s ok to be not ok. Life’s up and down. Nobody can stay positive and fine everyday. Please share your happiness and also sadness with us. You are not alone and we are not the only one who is suffering. Let’s get thru this together and stay stronger.
Please always remember, you are amazing!
If you ever have doubts, go back the very first video you made. You are going so far and so great now! We are all very proud of you!

Aleese!!! I feel for you. It must be so very hard being away from family during this time. It’s not easy and trying to keep positive all the time is exhausting. Faking till you make it is masking unhappiness, loneliness and sometimes depression for some. I understand girl. As women, we have our ups and downs but most importantly we can lean on our family and friends to help bring us back up and support us. Hang in there. You are doing great, getting therapy and being so transparent about your struggles, it makes you so relatable and even more real. Love ya girl. Take care.
