Hey there! This video is an experiment about Relay. What a relay does is to switch high power items that can draw too much current to safely come in contact with the switch itself. In this experiment, we'll use it as a switch to control the LED on and off.

Damn output wire was placed on the wrong pin! Didn't ever realise and thought there was something wrong with my relay.

I'm having an issue where the relay switches on and off but the voltage of the terminal only reaches 0.6V, not enough to light an led. I think it should be 5V, but i am not sure what could be wrong with my circuit

For some reason on mine, the LED lights only for a fraction of a second.

I hear the relay click, wait one second, click (at which point the LED Flashes), wait one second then it starts over. I think the NPN is not providing enough power to keep the relay closed, but then why the second click? Jumping the relay provides steady current to the LED so I know the resistor, LED and grounds are correct. Anyone else have this issue?

Oh also the diagram at 8:22 does not show the NPN emitter actually connecting to ground.

8:14 circuit is not fully closed the last ground wire pinned to breadboard ground rail should have connected to arduiono. may you should hook athat ground wire @ 8:08 to negetive rail and then use jumpwire to connect the led. then it works. *edited* you actually doing the same thing but the circut diagram is incorrect
