I understand musical breathing theory....but it was still fun to see all three recordings shoulder sway in the same tempo and directions. Well done Colm!

My favourite sea chant by far in AC 4, one of my favourite assassins creed games. Brings back good memories.

Why do I find the annunciation here so pleasing? I also love how you can isolate each voice and they sound so amazing both in isolation and supporting the other clones.

I have to say this is damn close to what's in the game

That was BY FAR the best ending to this I've ever heard. What an effort.

Now you're ready to sail for the Horn
Weigh, hey, roll and go!
Our boots and our clothes, boys, are all in the pawn,
To be rollicking Randy Dandy, oh
Heave a pawl, heave away
Weigh, hey, roll and go!
The anchor's on board andthe cable's all stored
To be rollicking Randy Dandy, oh
Soon we'll be warping her out through the locks
Weigh, hey, roll and go
Where the pretty young girls all come down in their frocks
To be rollicking Randy Dandy, oh
Heave a pawl, oh, heave away
Weigh, hey, roll and go
The anchor's on board and the cable's all stored
To be rollicking Randy Dandy, oh
Come breast the bars, bullies, heave her away
Weigh, hey, roll and go
Soon well be rolling her down through the Bay
To be rollicking Randy Dandy, oh
Heave a pawl, oh, heave away
Weigh, hey, roll and go
The anchor's on board and the cable's all stored
To be rollicking Randy Dandy, oh

Just phenomenal. The ending is amazing, I've been listening on repeat just to hear it again.

I got goosebumps from the hole song but the end was a nice touch. Incredible work thank you.

Okay, okay, so did I relisten to this right after the first time through? and then another time after? Did I sing along (terribly) while making my midmorning coffee? Why yes I did, thank you for asking. I had a thought for another song - it's not a Sea Shanty, but it is a labour song, so spiritually, they're siblings, and it's from a a Canadian Maritime band, Great Big Sea, called The Chemical Worker's Song (Process Man). It has the same vibe as a sea shanty, and it'd be hard to tell it apart from one except for the subject matter, and I think you could really give it the gritty fierceness it deserves (and probably do something super cool with the percussion? Who knows!) -- All of these covers are just making me see the possibilities, going "But what if Colm covered this? What would that be like??" Anyways, I'm done now, congratulations, you live rent-free in my brain.

Love, love, love this so much. The ending is sheer perfection. Time to make a playlist of your shanties so I can listen to it on repeat <3 Looking forward to hear what others you have in store for us.
