Conan is the antithesis of this list. Just a genuinely good man who launched so many careers and took care of so many of his staff

James Corden was about as phony as Ellen. You could just see right through it.

I'll add one to this list even if it's a bit milder: Richard Dawson
During his original run as host of Family Feud, ratings were running high, often the #1 game show in daytime and slaying it in primetime. But with it came an intense off-camera ego. One so big that a January 1984 TV Guide article about game shows saw many of his fellow hosts (Wink Martindale, Monty Hall and others) condemn him for his off-camera tantrums and rude behavior to his production staff. The biggest comment, though, came from TV Guide itself who said that Richard refused to participate in the article unless he was given the cover of that week's issue alone instead of with the other hosts. The public's attitude toward Dawson immediately turned, and ratings began to freefall (helped by the rise of Wheel of Fortune), with the show ultimately being cancelled the following year.

Three things come to mind with Dr. Phil.
One, the Shelly Duval incident.
Two, making the 'Cash Me Ousside' girl famous and not doing ANYTHING to curb her behavioral issues. He even brought her back a second time after she went viral, just for the ratings.
And three, accompanying ICE agents during recent raids.
Oprah never should've made him famous.

I dont blame Jay Leno for everything that happened during that January. I lost respect for him when he took the Tonight show back when it was offered to him. He should have suggested another option for NBC to use him until his contract ran out instead of being a wet doormat.

Jay Leno & David Letterman are both late-night kings!! I never liked Leno as a comedian.. but I enjoy him as a person and always remembered he and Letterman being on every night when I was young. They just go hand in hand with late-night talk, imo.
But I think it’s Ellen, Oprah, Tyra, and Dr Phil who were the worst talk show hosts.
I actually like Dr Phil today. But I couldn’t stand him or his show when he was @ CBS.

A lot of people unjustly hated Leno for taking back the Tonight Show. It wasn't his decision. That was 100% on NBC. Conan's version was tanking in the ratings. NBC needed to do something. Jay was on at 10pm, and was killing it in the ratings. So they decided to put him back in the Tonight Show slot and got rid of Conan, where he went to TBS where his show was a better fit. If anything I lost respect for him because he's the only one of the comics who relentlessly mocked Monica Lewinsky who hasn't apologized to her for doing so. Letterman did it, Kimmel did it. Jon Stewart did it. Conan did it. Leno still refuses to.
