As a college counselor, I really think the writers did Doug and Jazz's relationship a gross disservice from the moment he suggested they sleep with other people, even though he never did. When they first took a break - I got on Twitter and said, "Please do not have one of them sleep with someone else." Young Black people, really need to see examples of relationship stability. I cannot tell you how many young Black and Brown college women really believe that it's natural for them to be a side chick, to be beaten, and to be treated like hell. I hope these writers allow these young characters to develop with emotional maturity and stability.
