This is part 2 of our Axial SCX10 III Base Camp RTR series. We start with a box stock ready to run truck and slowly upgrade the truck for maximum performance, climb angle and lean angle. In pt2, we move the battery, add brass weights and add overdrive.

Great upgrades, thanks for the video! 👍 Btw, low cg is important, but as climbs get steeper, over 45-degrees, you'll have better results mounting the weight forward - that position behind the front bumper is ideal! And take the brass off the rear to improve front weight bias. As for the od, yes, it's most effective at pulling the rig up and over obstacles, but as you increase wheel speed, the od will help pull the wheels up an incline. My two cents! 😃

I believe what people were saying about stick on wheel weights was to stick them to the inside of the rim, between the rim and the foam insert. No problem with rubbing on the portal housing covers that way. (?)

On these trucks there isn't a whole lot needed to make a great crawler. Limiting straps on the shocks, overdrive, decent wheels, good tires/inserts or foam, better servo, and a brushless motor setup are really all you need to take the stock chassis as far as it will go. Adding a little bit of brass isn't bad, but adding too much will eventually hurt performance due to the traction limitations of the tires.

Add rubber bands around the tops of the front shocks to the lower shock mount. It will help the truck from unloading the front end during the climb. And if they are light enough on the tension it will still articulate.

I've found wheel weight help a lot with traction by compressing the tires. So even though not massive improvements with the angle broad, very useful for real world crawling. Looking forwards to see where the build goes!

Let's have part 3! I am looking at buying this truck soon. Maybe mount up a few beadlock and tire options, as that would be very quick to swap out and it would be awesome for us to see what kind of results you get.

Take those rear brass portal covers off. All they’re doing is increasing the weight that the front has to pull up.

If the wheels have the plastic ring on the inside of the beed lock you can mount the weight to the outside of the ring that way they are inside the wheel

Get the injora tire inserts, helps a little in adding some sort of weight too. 😅

I've found old plastic totes lids work great little Tupperware works also and another cheap trick is rubber band to hold the suspension down and hooked to center section and up over cross bar and multiple spots to either put more droop or less by simple rubber band these could be done at each shock mount but have the tension even might be more complex keep up great work

Tire inserts are big tuning aid also, but I feel you should wait until you're done adding weight or removing weight before you start tuning with inserts.

Is your xigital angle display magnetic on tne bottom if not stick some magnets to it then then stick a bit of flat metal to the board tben you dont have to keek puttin it under the ramp to check the angles
