Flat earthers think that pointing out the obvious is an argument against how rockets get to orbit, but they are wrong. In this video I take a look at a common flat earth argument that relies on being ignorant of orbital mechanics, perspective, and reality in general.

Ok so let me get this straight. The rocket flys in an arc because it is the most efficient way to get to orbit. The reason is because if it flys in an arc, the gravity pulling it down is decreased and it is also flying into a thinner atmosphere. Rocket science is fucking hard..

I’m not genius, and I highly suspect the earth is flat, but this could easily be explained if the earth was round, going at a curve would save energy/fuel because you’d go sideways out into space. The curve only sounds dumb if it was taking off on a flat plain

Bro, low Earth orbit begin from 160 km and ended about 2000 km. So, your explanation is useless cuz rocket did not reach that altitude. Earth is not globe.

Something seems off about this whole space thing and these rockets going curved and not straight up. It's not adding up just like the way these people of power dance around issues of the world and nothing ever gets taken care of.

If flat earth is dumb and ignorant, and few believe that, why take the time to address it? The logical reasoning would be to not validate it by reproving it at all. Me thinks flat earthers may have something on Never A Straight Answer

What happens if you fly straight up once you get to space and you fly up and out of our area what is straight up above us and why don’t we ever fly straight up from the earth why is it always left or right???
