David Banners MPC Beats Are Disgusting!

Reacting to How David Banner Makes Beats on the AKAI MPC 2500. Which happens to be my favorite throwback MPC of all time (next to the MPC 2000XL). He is a legendary rapper, producer, and songwriter from Mississippi. The "Above The Cloudz" YouTube channel does a great job of preserving some amazing cook ups. It's an honor to share the content with everyone and help get the word out.

Great video! David Banner doesn't get the recognition that he deserves. He's very influential & definitely has a style all his own!! And as for beat tags, I see no issues with them. They have their uses!! Thanks again Ave!!👊🏾💯

0:48 That drum break is "Give It Up" by Kool & The Gang. Classic break that a lot of producers used.

Puff Daddy was a beat tag in the 90's.
Other than that you had DJ scratches to start a song that let some of us know who's beat it was by their style. Then when the DAW era began Just Blaze and David Banner familiarized it.

I had the opportunity of meeting him twice in concert once in '04 and again in '09 in Gainesville FL. The second time he gave me the mic and let me spit the last 4 bars of Pimp C's verse on suicide doors! That Sh💩 was legendary lol Banner is definitely in my top 5 of people that inspired me to make beats.

I am so glad you said southern hip hop! From Dj Paul to Juicy J to Dj Magic Mike to Mannie Fresh the "Southern Sound" was sample based! Yes, Organized Noize used musicians but the south has ALWAYS understood HIP HOP! The best part of Southern Hip Hop is the same thing that makes Northern Hip Hop good and that is the regions! New Orleans is vastly different from Houston, which is different from Memphis! P.E.A.C.E. to the Crooked Letterz!

One of my Fav Beat Tags says No words. It’s Cardiaks. With that Flatline sound that slides.
