"Þann gel ek þér inn níunda:
ef þú við inn naddgǫfga
orðum skiptir jǫtun,
máls, ok mannvits,
sé þér á minni ok hjarta
gnóga of gefit."
"Far þú, nú, æva
þar's þer forað þykkir,
ok standi-t þér mein fyr munum.
Á jarðfǫstum steini
stóð ek innan dura,
meðan ek þér galdra gól."
"Móður orð ber þú,
mǫgr, heðan
ok lát þér í brjósti búa -
því nóga heill
skaltu of aldr hafa
meðan þú mín orð of mant."

“Then ninth will I chant thee:
if you exchange words
with a spear wielding giant
you’ll have enough speech and wisdom
on your memory and heart.”
“never go where the path is impassable
and may no curse stand in your way.
I have stood within these doors
on an earth rooted stone,
while i spoke spells upon you.”
“carry your mothers words,
from here my son,
And let them dwell in your heart -
you’ll have enough luck
throughout your lifetime
So long as my words shall last.”
