Jayavarman VII the Great may be known as the greatest ruler of the Khmer, but he also wins the award for history's best son. Making your mom the face for the goddess of wisdom is quite the Mother's Day gift.

( Since folks have been asking for the metric conversions on our videos, 9 miles = 14.5 km at 4:52 )

Jayavarman VII: "Ok, I will abdicate. Better to give up power for my brother, so I will prevent another succession war in this country..."

Civil wars happens anyway, and the kingdom is invaded.

Jayavarman VII: "Oh, c'mon!"

Jaya: "You know what, you wanna be king that badly? You can have it. I ain't gonna be party to a war that kills hundreds and hurts thousands more."

The sharp decline of a civilization and the burning of one holy city later: "...Alright, *deep breath* Cowabunga it is..."

I've seen the "stegosaurus" relief first hand. Some say it is supposed to be a depiction of a pangolin. However I don't see why it would be impossible for some ancient peoples to stumble upon a relatively complete fossilized specimen of a stegosaurus. After all the Khmer did
dig and quarry a lot of stone.

This sounds suspiciously like the premise of Avatar: The Last Airbender.
A peace-loving person is gone for decades, while the world goes to shite, and when he returns he must be more pro-active and less pacifist.

*sees that Buddha's faces have been chiseled to literal phalluses*

Ive actually been in Angkor 4 Days ago... and it is awesome. You really show the grandness of this structures in your episodes. Really cool that you talk about Angkor. It is really hard to find Information about the history of the South-east-Asian countries.
