This really is me when the slag is building up and my internal processes are seizing

something about the vague monotone siren noise in the background coupled with the ticking sound keep the general urgency of Moon's current state, while also maintaining the grandiose nature of the superstructure. It's like it's saying "this would be beautiful, if time wasn't running out"

this basically shows the difference between how pebbles and moon reacts when in danger, one is erratic and angry while the other stays calm and collected

I think while Pebbles' theme gives a sense of confusion, anger, yet otherworldly and ethereal vibes, Moon's theme focuses more on the latter, while also having just a very small side of urgency behind it.

Fun fact, this plays faintly in saints campaign on your way to the echo

She looked into the misty water, looking at a familiar face.
A metallic face with eyes and a dot on its forehead.
So different from what she used to see, all those ages ago on that projection.
It was a box, a big one.
Now she’s so small, disconnected from her true self.
Now, she can only look to the moon.

The countdown to death, absolutely fucking immaculate. Ethereal and haunting.

Some of the melodies are so deep in pitch that they almost sound like creaking metal. Like the legs of Moon's can, which are slowly caving in on themselves.
The percussion sounds a bit like a clock ticking.
The timer ticking down until the final cycle Moon remains standing.

It makes me so sad that she collapsed. But I’m happy I got to see her before she did

This and random gods are some of the best pieces in the game. Mainly, it's because I think they do what rain world does best: put you in the shoes of the slugcat.

Random gods is powerfull, awe inspiring, and terrifying. Perfect for the tiny slugcat's first encounter with a being like five pebbles, so far above anything we'd encountered to that point.

Moon's on the other hand, feels more familiar, and less intimidating, just like an iterator would be to spearmaster, and to the player as well. However, behint the divine melody that is heard throughout the track, there is also a sense of impending doom in a way there isn't in five pebbles, becaus his collapse is nowhere near as imminent as moon's.

Absolutely incredible

Downpour might be the ultimate piece of fan service ever made, a love letter towards the games community. I know the game has become more mainstream now, but i couldnt imagine this game ever getting additional content like this back when it released. The community was small, the game sold ok but not amazing, yet arguably the most dedicated and friendly community ive ever been a part of. Its insane the development of this DLC began back in 2018 i think, when the game was still pretty obscure.

Yet the fans of the game would still put in 5 years making one of the best DLCs ever made for a game, period. If not THE best DLC EVER made for a game. Even when there was a good chance not many would ever play it.

it feels relaxing exploring a super computer knowing you dont have to run away from mold spiders every room you go

0:46 Sounds like a chime that would play whenever an Iterator is first powered on.

The song and vibe of the Spearmaster LttM just gives me a sense of dread. You can hear the sound of a ticking clock in the background of the majority of the song, like you are running out of time, and the thing is, it isn't for you. It's for Moon, one of the few creatures in this game to show compassion to you, which would make this relatively relaxed region feel like something you have to get through in a single cycle, otherwise something bad will happen.

Reminds me that acts of true sacrifice are/approach the divine, especially ones made for those we care for most.
I believe it's implied (if not stated) that moon could have intervened and prevented their collapse, but chose not to for pebbles's sake

The song that plays before your little brother breaks your legs.

I was struggling with motivation to play through Downpour when it first dropped. I was mostly just doing Jolly co-op with friends.
But, eventually, I decided.. "Y'know what? I wanna start Spearmaster now, actually." because I really liked Spearmaster.
It was really tough. I was a little rusty because I hadn't played since 2019, although I was sorta better at combat than I used to be probably because I have better reaction time now.
I streamed it to my friend as well. And, after a long struggle, particularly pertaining Chimney Canopy, I made it to Moon.
Waterfront Facility was incredible-- it's honestly my favorite region. It was so cool travelling through pre-crash Shoreline, but Moon's structure was awe-inspiring.
It felt like entering a superstructure for the first time. Of course, I'd beaten Survivor years ago, but I used a guide so my experience was hampered. I went into this fully blind.
And this song was the first one that stuck with me the most. I distinctly remember it. Being beneath Moon's can, floating upwards and staring into it, awestruck, as the music began to swell.
and then i got stuck in that room for like the next 6 minutes which kinda took away from the feeling But that aside, this has gotta be one of my favorite songs in the track. It's so ethereal and terrifying.
The exact moment is one of the ones I remember the most. It's so important to me.
I've begun to honestly grow nostalgic for Downpour. It's been a YEAR since it came out!! That's crazy!! Still struggling believing it..

I still regret being the person to use headphones with highish volume and to hear this in game. I didn't know moon was a fan of terrifying those who visit her.
