Biological control of mealybugs - Anagyrus vladimiri

This parasitic wasp is well-known for its use in the biological control of mealybugs. Anagyrus parasitizes different stages of mealybugs. The wasp actively searches for its prey. Anagyrus stings the mealybug with its ovipositor to paralyze it. Then it injects an egg, which will develop inside the mealybug. The host pupa swells and hardens into a golden brown mummy. An adult Anagyrus will emerge through an irregular exit hole, at the posterior end of the mummy. After emergence the wasps mate immediately and search for suitable hosts.

Note: old latin name of Anagyrus vladimiri is Anagyrus pseudococci.

That wasp looks more like a fly than a wasp, because I don’t see a thin waist which is what a wasp is supposed to have to be a wasp.
