Authenticity, vulnerability & empathy - a potent combo for Values Contract! The practical example of a one-pager is indeed very useful. Well done!

While Kamales talks about holding senior executives accountable, it's worth mentioning that this should apply to all levels of leadership, not just the top-tier.

The story about the stressed client lead is eye-opening. Empathy can indeed transform relationships. It's a powerful tool for project success.

Very much appreciate how this reinforces the need for a cultural shift in tech leadership.

The idea of values contracts is really good! Leaders should be held accountable for more than just financial results.

What she said about acknowledging our limitations really struck a chord with me. Burnout culture is such a real part of modern life and when you see those in charge setting boundaries and taking care of their well being you know that it's okay for you to do that as well and just the honesty of having those conversations makes for much nicer work environments. If values contracts can ensure that then I'm all for it!!!

Kamales is really shedding light on a pertinent issue. The tech industry has the power to shape the world, and with that power comes responsibility. The idea of a higher standard of behavior is necessary to ensure that the innovations they create are truly beneficial for everyone.

Linking compensation to values index reporting is a brilliant move, this is all so brilliant!

Oh myyyy the values index report idea is genius 🙌🏼 I would love to hold some of my senior management accountable for the dips in morale over certain projects.

I've got to say, the concept of a "Hall of Fame" for values is intriguing. It's almost like gamifying positive behavior and setting examples.

I think it's like a ripple effect – when leaders are real, it encourages the same from their team!

In my experience, that story about the client lead and the empathy approach really resonates. It's amazing how a little understanding and a willingness to connect can turn a stressful situation into a win-win scenario. I'm all for embracing authenticity and empathy – they're like superpowers for leaders.

Definitely agree with her about how vulnerability amongst leaders is perceived. I appreciate that feeling of like, oh my bosses are people too, we're all just chugging along trying to do our best here you know?

I totally agree! Authenticity, vulnerability, and empathy are often overlooked but crucial for effective leadership. Glad someone is working to bring attention to this

Personally I appreciate the idea of values contracts and making them public... It's a bold move, and I think it could genuinely promote a more ethical and accountable tech industry.

I think the focus on accountability is really important. The tech industry wields so much power, and leaders should be responsible for their actions and decisions.

When people feel valued and respected they are more likely to share insights and ideas and contribute to the overall success of a project - nothing too difficult to understand within that

Authentic leadership definitely rings true for me. I've seen how being true to oneself can foster trust and a sense of belonging, leading to a more open and creative work environment.

I couldn't agree more, there should be more open communication between staff and leaders - if everyone is on the same page about what they're working towards it increases team morale as well as building rapport.
