In addition to being an excellent version of the concerto, of the set of 27 Mozart concertos only two are in a minor key: This one and number 24. So both are sadder and deeper than all the others. They are my favorite.

The whole package: conductor, soloist, an excellent orchestra, and an exceptional rendition of this iconic composition by the greatest composer of the classical period. It doesn't surprise me that Maestro Schiff's interpretations of Mozart's music are this good. If you can understand Bach's music as well as he does, I guess interpreting any other composer may seem like just a Sunday walk in the park... Immaculate and passionate Mozartian style, he really performs this piece with sublimity and gusto... Bravo, Maestro Schiff, and bravi to your Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra colleagues!!! 💐

Whenever I listen to J.S. Bach I am certain that he remains the greatest composer of all time.
But then I listen to Mozart and I suspect that this question may require a penalty shootout or a tiebreaker!

I heard this corcerto live played on a pianoforté when I was in Zagreb, Croatia about 3 decades ago. I had no idea then what a pianoforté...but I liked the sound better for this concerto. ❤❤❤

I wonder if this can get any better at all. Bravo! so much clarity and nuances in the details and expression. Granted, the last cadenza sounds a bit weird, but I admire such courage. Loved it!
