Jason Isbell reinvents “Hello in There” for the Alzheimer’s Association “Music Moments” album. In this behind-the-scenes video, Isbell shares his personal connection to the song and his thoughts on the power of music to connect us to life’s most important moments.

“The song has so much wisdom.”

Jason Isbell is a four-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter known for his work with the band The 400 Unit. Isbell’s wife, fellow singer-songwriter and fiddle player Amanda Shires joins him for his “Music Moments” song.

Isbell says that he loves John Prine’s “Hello in There” because it reminds him of the elders in his family and how his grandfather taught him how to play musical instruments. Music has the power to motivate and “remind people of all the things they have in common with each other,” he says. Isbell hopes that this song encourages listeners to reach out, connect to each other with empathy and raise awareness to push Alzheimer's research forward.
