The 3 Stroke Pause Drill will help you establish the correct set up position for your kayak stroke.

The drill starts with the paddler performing 3 strokes then pausing for 3 seconds in the set up position. Watch Lisa Carrington show us how to do the drill.

ABOUT PADDLER DRILLS:
These drills have been developed to give coaches and athletes information and ideas to around how they can help develop their paddling technique. They can be used to help develop a further understanding of the physics and biomechanics behind paddling technique.

Each drill is designed to improve each part of the paddle cycle through the development of a more efficient stroke. It is important to note that most of these drills are exaggerating a specific aspect of paddling technique in order
to help the athlete learn the most efficient paddling technique possible.

Thank you so much for all these presentations. This is something I need to develop further in my amateur fast paddling. I will be paddling a high pressure inflatable racing kayak (517x54cm) this year and these drills will be one of the first I'll be practicing. 👍
And big thanks to Lisa for showing us how to do it right. 😁
