Colton Winder lives in Utah with his two wives, Tami and Sophie, and their three children. The family believes in plural marriage but it took some time for Sophie and Tami to adjust to life as sisterwives. Sophie told Truly: “The hardest part was realising that Tami and I didn’t know each other very well. We didn’t understand each other's personalities”. Initially this created some tension within the family. Colton said: “There were misunderstandings…sometimes it kind of felt like I was standing in the middle of a tornado”. Communication has been key to the success of this plural marriage, with Colton making time each month to go on dates with both his wives. The family also prioritises spending time with their kids by going to the local farm. Tami told Truly: “Our kids have brought us together, they make us feel like a proper plural family”.

Sounds like a crappy deal for the poor woman that's struggling to conceive. Sharing your partner with someone you dislike and having to help raise their children. Definitely didn't sell the lifestyle to me!

Listen to them, they are describing their difficulties primarily revolving around each woman having to deal with the emotional aspect of having to share one man. It’s rather obvious to me that each woman would prefer to be his only partner. Who has a stronger grip on these women? The man or their cult?

They were on a season of sister wives & I felt so awful for the first wife. She was trying to have another baby & struggling (miscarriages & just not getting pregnant) & at the EXACT same time is when he convinced her to let him have a 2nd wife. And this second wife became pregnant immediately WHILE the first was struggling.

Edit: after watching this, I see she had ANOTHER baby right after while the 1st wife is still trying.

Unfortunately this is so similar to what Meri Brown went through. She struggled to get pregnant after her first baby and that guilt led her to a path of plural marriage which ended in diaster for her. This was very sad to watch.

A man should have children. It is very brave of these women to come together in this way and I respect the second wife very much as essentially a live in surrogate mother. For the first wife she is able to stay with her husband and you can tell they love each other and can have children without adopting.
I have had a wife and serious girlfriend who knew about each other and it is very important to have established boundaries and a hierarchy can be your friend. Notice in the video they lived separately for TWO YEARS before moving in.
